Senior DevOps Engineer

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Communicate with development team, product owners and business users
  • Evaluate release scope against infrastructure and non-functional requirements
  • Provide estimates of integration, configuration and maintenance efforts
  • Identify, maintain and control infrastructure and web application configurations
  • Identify and report infrastructure and operations risks
  • Define release strategy for each product version
  • Drive release cycle as part of Agile process
  • Collaborate with Development team to improve quality of releases
  • Collaborate with SysAdmins team to improve quality of infrastructure and services
  • Assist customer support on analyzing and resolving customer issues
Professional Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional DevOps, Release Management or System Administration experience
  • 3+ years of experience in deploying, configuring and maintaining complex web applications
  • Strong experience in software release management
  • Strong experience in administering Unix/Linux server environments
  • Strong experience in building out internal support systems, production ops and dev environments (using tools like Jenkins/TeamCity, Chef/Puppet, Nagios/Cacti/Graphite, Pingdom)
  • Knowledge of best practices for horizontal scaling, automated server builds, continuous delivery
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Experience with teamwork tools such as Mercurial/git, maven, JIRA
Optional requirements
  • Experience in building continuous delivery process for distributed system from scratch is a bold plus
  • Knowledge of cloud services (Amazon EC2, Google Compute Engine, Rackspace) is a bold plus
  • Knowledge in Ad Serving, Affiliate marketing or Real-time bidding areas is a bold plus
  • Knowledge of technology stack and tools for Java web applications is a plus
  • Experience with web services diagnostic and traffic simulation tools (JMeter, soapUI) is a plus
  • Information Technology Degree or equivalent, MS is a plus
